my walk back home

I'm finally home! What a relief.

It was indeed THE scariest walk back home (to where I'm staying) from the city. William and I decided to walk back home at around 3.10am since we missed the free shuttle. I was like: "ok! Since someone else is walking with me, why not?"

It was a rather chilly "night" (in this case early morning). We walked passed Rundle Mall, then Rundle street. No one was in sight. Oh wells, we continue walking and walking and finally we reached the edge of Rundle street. and this was where all the pain began. Personally, I don't really like the idea to walk along the parks during the night. (I've tried walking in the park to reach the city @ 7-ish pm before, but NOT 3 in the morning.) We have to "overcome" two freaking parks before we can reach home, and that's not all, we still have to walk along a couple of gloomy streets before we FINALLY reach home.

So, as we were crossing the road to the park, the wind got stronger. (I went home and checked the wind speed was 40km/hr, YES! THAT strong!) The wind howled as the trees swayed with the wind. Back and forth, back and forth. Being superstition (as always), I tried to stay focus and not looking around. Well, in case of..... So, as you can imagine, there's tones of trees in the park and all of them howled at the same time, that's pretty scary. (well, at least for me) Instead of walking IN the park, we walked along the edges of the park.Then suddenly, I heard a sound, like someone is pressing the I-want-to-cross-the-road-button furiously and aggressively at the other end of the street. But, when I looked back there's NO ONE. I kept hearing the sound. But, I told myself not to look back anymore. I'm not the only one who heard the sound. William heard it too, because he kept on turning back but I just kept really quiet. I told myself that maybe the traffic light was spoiled and that I should just continue to walk quickly back home. By this time, the wind was almost choking me to death. It was so strong that I could hardly breathe in and walk properly. lol! sounds so dramatic but yeah, it's true case. Then, I figured out a way to "escape" from walking passed the 2nd park by taking another route. How smart was I!

I don't know about you, but whenever I saw a person on the street, I was relieved. But, at the same time, was a little bit afraid. (ah, the irony!) Because (a) There's SOMEONE! (b)The person might rob you or something. :) After walking passed a couple of shops, it's time to walk the tedious main road before we can reach the round-a-bout. So, I din't really manage to "escape" the 2nd park after all. I still had to walk the stupid edges of the park to get to the round-a-bout. Both sides of the main road were pitch black parks. Really scary. The wind got even stronger this time. A lot of branches and twigs on the floor that almost tripped us a couple of times. It was so tedious and scary that I felt like breaking down to cry. Both of us couldn't walked properly cause we were fighting against the strong wind. again, so freaking dramatic, but true case. It took us forever to reach the round-a-bout. I saw in front of us was a mini sand-storm. (we haven't reach that area yet) I was like: "omg! How do we even make it? We should've taken the bloody taxi." I was really frustrated at myself. I was praying hard that we can reach home safely. I don't know why but I have this sudden thought that William might turned into a zombie and catch me.

Then suddenly, a car drove passed us. I was talking to William and said how nice if the car can send us back home. But, the car was already gone. *hopes shattered* but miraculously, the car made a U turn back. I was hoping that the person really was coming to help us or what not. But, i din't lift my hopes up high. But, they were!!!! I was elated. Really. The couple sent us back home and I was really relieved. This might be a sign that God has answered my prayers. I'm so thankful. :)

Next time, I won't be walking back home at this hour. Well, at least not on a windy day. Oh and while I was walking back home, it dawned on me that I really have to get a car asap.

okay that's all. It may sound meh, not it was scary. at least for me.

Easter break 2011

Ahhh~ What can I say more? warm bath on a chilly winter night..... rejuvenates your soul and makes you smell nice at the same time. :D

So, last Friday was THE official day of our easter break. Bruno Mars was sooo nice 'cause he dropped by to celebrate our semester break with us. hahaha! *dream on, Nicole* nah~ he was here for his tour. Sadly, I din't manage to attend tho. But, here you go. Sorry guys, haven't been spending much time to blog. Mainly because I'm "busy" a.k.a. lazy and at the same time 'm running short of ideas on what to blog. Anyways, I haven't been doing any exceptional or intriguing activities. Oh! Wait a second, I just realised that there's dark purplish white spots on my arms.... OMG! The evil moss are invading my armsss.... ARGH!!!!

Okay. Time to quit the drama. I have perfectly fine arms. *inside joke :D*

There's this video clip circulating around Facebook regarding a dog abuse last Friday. Man, if you haven't take a look at the video, then you should go and VIEW now.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWRtZM2fbAc

So, this cute lil toy poodle named Sushi was "trained" to stand on it's hind leg by his owner. Trained? more like forced to do so and if Sushi failed to do so, he will get punched/kicked/slapped on his face by his owner. Literally! No kidding. I mean, seriously?! Do you really need to hit your dog like that? Then, what's the point of paying so much money to groom your dog? Look at Sushi, so well groomed. You can see that Sushi was petrified whenever his owner lifted his hand up. The abusing lasted for as long as 15 minutes. I felt so sick after watching the video. I wondered where did he get the guts to hit his dog sooooo hard. I wouldn't do that to my dog. And the worse part was his girlfriend (the one who filmed the video) didn't stop him from abusing Sushi. What is wrong with you guys????

Anyway, I don't want to comment more about these inhumane people 'cause the people on Facebook were already cursing and scolding the hell out of them. Three words : serve you right. (i guess?) You should give me your dog instead. I would pamper him just like I do with my lil dogs. :)

1. Hope that my family and I will be bless with health and wealth.
2. Work harder for Uni. That's a must!
3. Spend some time exercising. I've got to admit that I've been living in such an unhealthy lifestyle for years now. :(

I know it has been quite awhile since I last updated my blog.Sorry. I was not in a mood to blog. too emo. anywayss...

First question: Have you ever heard someone sleep talking before? Yes / No?

Second question: Have you ever try to reply that person who is sleep talking? Yes / No?

For me, Yes! My sister always sleep talk when she sleeps. LOL! :D and Yes! I am lame enough to reply her.

and I found out something sooooo amazing! You know what? You can actually create an awesome conversation with someone who is sleep talking! no way?! YES WAY! Not kidding. Go try it!!! But remember! You mustn't wake that person up, or else you will ruin everything!

Here's my little conversation with sleep talking sis:

hmm.. I guess nothing much to update. Oh ya!I went to KL the other day. Christmas decos are out! OMG! I'm so in love with 1 Utama's decoration! The best, I would say!!!! It's like a little tiny village. There's a frozen lake in the middle of the village and the village is jammed pack with people. A wooden bridge was "build" across the frozen lake. There's lots of small stalls and cottages, just like the one's we see in story books! There's even smoke coming out from the chimneys! Alas, I din't really get to snap some decent photos because the camera's battery went flat! Tsk tsk tsk!

My 3rd food journey & Send off

My brothers and sister joined a 4 days 3 nights trip and were off to Singapore last night. Before sending them off, we had a late night supper in Paparich. like...... Finally!!! We had something light for supper like bread and desserts.

My first ever blood test

Today I went to take blood test in a hospital for the very first time. This blood test means quite a big deal to me. As you know, I'm very scared of needles. not just any other needles! The ones which penetrates through your epithelial cells and you can just enjoying the feeling of the blood oozing out from your veins. eewwww! Sorry to say that, but I'm not a fan of needles. :( Nonetheless, I have to do it because I have some family history of Thalassemia. Not a good thing at all. Anyway, I'm not going to elaborate more on that.

I have been hearing from different people about their blood test experience. And surprise, surprise! None of them seems to be painless. Every one just complained about how bad it hurts, how inexperience the nurses were. So, I freaked out! Was in fact planning a perfect way to escape this. Obviously, I failed badly.

Mom brought me to the hospital early in the morning. My heart was beating like crazy as we walked down to the laboratory. I followed nervously behind my mom. As we went into the lab, my mom squeaked so loudly that I thought the nurse looked really horrible. So, it turned out that the nurse was my mom's friend. So, the nurse called me to go into a small room.

Nurse: Girl, come and sit here.
Me: *Monologue: Shit!*
Nurse: Girl, not painful one, kay? I promise, sure not painful. Come.
Me: *Still standing outside the door. Not moving*
Nurse: Come and sit here. I use a baby needle for you. Not painful one. *Smile*
Me: *walk to the chair and sit*
Nurse: Okay. Girl, you follow what I ask you to do.
Me: *nod head. Neither looking at her nor the syringe*
Nurse: Okay. Take a deep breathe and then let go.
Me: *followed obediently*

after few minutes later,

Nurse: Okay done! Girl, hold the cotton wool. I help you to put plaster.
Me: ????

Wow! It was painless. Not kidding! I can't even feel the needle poking into my veins. I like her!!! She's so awesome. I hopped down from the chair happily. But, the wound got a little painful when I lifted my hand. Overall, it's tolerable. Now the only thing to worry is the results. :(

After the blood test, we went to eat cendol. Yum Yum!

A day to the great granny's!

So, we went uptown to KK to visit my great granny. She's 92 this year and still going strong. God bless! :) We lingered there for several hours. Eating, chatting, more eating, watching telly and etc. The adults do the chatting, while me.. well.. nothing much. There were 7 little babies/children in the house. Just imagine how noisy it can be. But, hey! it was great cause it's been quite some time I spend time with little toddlers since all my other cousins were already all grown up. In fact, it's better than my typical annual Chinese New Year. and there's this little girl who is my mother's cousin's daughter (which is my somewhat distant cousin). I tell you. I fell in ♥ with her cuteness. *SCREAMS* I die every time she smiled at me. Too bad she prefers to play with the other kids in the house and not me. Sigh!

I reached the Land of Marshies the day before yesterday but was way tired to blog. Anyway, yess.. I'm back! the plane was fine and there were plenty of food to keep us entertained. well, at least for Swiney :) Every time I wake up, it would be nom nom time.

My so called "Good-Hair day"!

My hair was incredibly neat and straight this morning.

and as you know, my hair is those forever-messy-type of hair.

Not that I don't brush my hair or what. I do!!!

So, I was pretty fond of my oh-so-neat hair until I stepped out of the door.

And the next moment, my hair was all messed up. So much for a good-hair day!

Today's weather was supposed to be an awesome, sunny day.

minus the strong, cold blistering wind.

The wind was so strong that I literally felt like I was almost going to be blown away.

However, this one was not as worst as the last one I've encountered.

Basically, the wind was so strong that I could hardly breathe. Seriously!

Done with chemistry practicals

No more Chemistry Practicals!

well, at least for this year.

I'm more than exultant.

You wouldn't even want to believe how much stress I've undertaken

ever since I've caused an explosion.

Being the only Asian in my group.....

I am always the last few to finish the practicals every single time.

Those people in my group did theirs really quickly and rushed home

as if missing a bus would meant the whole world to them.

and the worst thing was that,

they don't even bother to wash they apparatus before leaving the lab.

So, guess who have to do all the work at the end?

ME!

Yes! I have to help them wash their apparatus, which were filled with black carbon.

I'm not being kind or what. My demonstrator asked me to so.

I was totally fine with it at first because I thought I was the only one left in my group.

Who else would do the cleanings, right? unless the apparatus have minds of their own.

But, to my dismay, I wasn't the last one.

There were a few Caucasian boys behind me who were in my group, busy answering questions.

Hello? I'm not done as well. Why me?

Wow! Discrimination much, huh?

Enough of the grumblings.

Don't worry, I'm not mad.

my demonstrator is an awesome, pretty and well, friendly person. :)

So glad that that's over! wheee~

Chemistry practicals will be extending to 5 hours next year.

What can I say? Well, I don't know... that's like freaking long!!!

Good luck for those who are taking chem next year. :D

As for now, I should plunge in to the free-from-chem-prac awesome feeling.

One thing I like about watching dramas or movie over here is that you won't get to experience choppy buffering right in the middle of the show.

In Malaysia, just when you arrive the climax of the storyline, and then

*buffering 1%, 2%.......10%......20%...................98%..................98%....................................98%.................99%..................................................99%...................................................99%............................ and it just takes forever to become 100%*

and you start to get really anxious.Still waiting and then it started to load again. and then move bit by bit. and here we go again.

That's the good thing about overseas' Internet speed! :) You won't get to endure this kind of torture. However, we don't get to have unlimited Internet. What a waste. Or else, I might have already finished watching every single movie and drama on the earth! haha! :)

Anyway, I just finished watching this super duper awesome drama, which was introduced by Eugenie. It is called Personal Taste (A Korean Drama). And as you know, I'm not the kind of person who....err.. fancy Korean shows. I admit, maybe I get a little bit annoyed by their accent. err..? not sure. But, definitely not being racist!

But, I've to say, this is a GREAT drama! SERIOUSLY!

However, I've to warn you, you better make sure that you have ample time to watch this drama before you decided to click on the first episode. I kid you not!

I'm not saying that this is going to be an awfully long drama or what, in fact, it's rather short (16 episodes only! aww~), but it just gets more and more addictive. like some sort of karma.

I WANT MORE DRAMA! argh!I'm definitely going to open up myself to more Korean drama. man, there are some really good ones! :)

I remember how I used to come to your house and play.

Just came back from Paradise.
(the place where Hillsong Concert was held!)

I'm almost half blind & half deaf!

Eardrums are practically thinning to an extent where I couldn't describe.

Let alone my crushed feet and distorted heels.

but,

HILLSONG IS ALL GOOD! ♥

Frankly, getting there was really pain in the a*s.

The weather was terrible.

75km/h! You can just imagine a fat boy being blown into the sky.

My umbrella got totally berserk and out of control as the supporting ribs tend to flip-over every single minute when a gale of wind or continuous strong wind blows through the inside. It was really embarrassing!

My flats were drenched with rain water + muddy dirt. EWWW!

It took ages for the bus to come.

But, all I can say is that, I ♥ the concert very much!

apart from being squash and people jumping on your feet!

Never regretted paying $10!

Woah! I've got to admit that I'm kind of shocked that it opened today.

Because the shop was still surrounded by tonnes of wooden planks when we went pass there yesterday.

'cause you know, there's three freaking D stores along Rundle, which is..

somewhat unnecessary.

Shouldn't people open other shops like Starbucks or something else?

It's Thursday again. YES, Practicals AGAIN!

Just like what I've mentioned in my previous post, this practical was done individually. and guess what?

I SCREWED THIS PRACTICAL BIG TIME!

Come to think of that, it's like I've been cursed by someone badly or something. I've never really completed any of my practicals without having to do them for a GAZILLION TIMES for this sem, as far as I know. and as for this one. I can say it's going straight down to the stinky drain! Now, let me enlighten you how bad it was.

*You'll probably need a bin or something, just in case you feel like vomiting blood or something out from your stomach.*

Experiment was divided into 3 parts.

I added the wrong volume of acetic anhydride. It was supposed to be 4.0ml. I thought I've to press the thing down for 4 times. (which was apparently WRONG!) The crystals were having a hard time to form and hence, byebye to first batch of newly prepared mixture.
Redo the mixture. Heated it with steam bath. Waited for 5-10 minutes. Done! Brought my flask back to my bench. *I was trying to do it quickly because I was afraid that I'll be far behind everyone else + there are three parts all together, which takes quite a long time to complete all of them* So, according to the lab manual, "COOL THE MIXTURE TO ROOM TEMPERATURE, then add 40 ml of deionised water into the flask". So, as I've just said, I was trying to finish up quickly. So, I added the deionised water into my flask while it is still kind of hot. and GOD KNOWS WHAT HAPPEN!

MY SOLUTION EVENTUALLY EXPLODED!

NO KIDDING!

It was like "BOP!"

and some smokey effects!

The solution came skyrocketing out from the flask and landed on my book, hands, FACE (i think)! I was just staring blankly at my flask! trying to digest what had just happened before I started getting all panicky! and GOD! The smell was so freaking strong that you basically feel like fainting! The smell of vinegar! But even worst than that! EWWW!

So, my instructor quickly brought my flask to the chamber. I think I've just got my instructor into a big trouble because I did that right infront of his "instructor".

You get what I meant right? (my instructor's instructor = boss?)

Lesson learnt:

Never ever add deionised water into a hot solution containing sacylic acid + acetic anhydride + concentrated sulphuric acid! It's just too tragic!

3. and so I had to do another one since my second batch just exploded! The third batch was going all-so-smoothly until the crystalisation part. We had to pour our crystals into a small (I don't know what you call them), but it's like a small tray? that is attach to a flask and the flask is attached to another flask with a vaccum to filter the impurities.

We need pure crystals (THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE EXPERIMENT). So, I was fixing everything in place. Saw the pump was not working. So, I decided to switch to another pump. And MY GLITTERY CRYSTALS just fell everywhere on the table. Apparently the tray was like just on top of the opening of the conical flask. So, it's really unstable. GOD! I felt like crying. People from the other groups were totally staring at me! Feeling ridiculously helpless. I swept all the crystals that were on the table back into the tray. (not sure if I'm allowed to, but.....)

After changing the pumps, WAS READY TO FILTER. and my tray just went TANG! Fell on the table again! FOR GOD SAKE! my crystals were on the table again. Was trying real hard to suppress the urge to SWEAR out loud! tried to push those pretty crystals back into the tray again like the first time but failed miserably. Luckily, my instructor said that it was fine. So, i continued with the other parts.

4. TLC! I repeated TLC for...Well, I don't know.... more than three times until I was running short of time. Ended up with a bloody screwed TLC and hence a stupid looking TLC was pasted on my book.

That's about everything, i guess!

The typical Merdeka Eve night started with an urge to watch the fireworks celebration in KLCC ended up in a racist attack by a group of teenagers. So, me and a friend of mine thought of a good solution to avoid the traffic jam in that area by walking from the office in Jalan Imbi through Pavillion, to Jalan Kia Peng through Convention Center to KLCC.

Sounds like an ideal plan as the path is a frequent walkway and is even advertised in Pavillion as 'Bridge to KLCC'. (Just to note that we didnt go into any dark alley)

At 10.15pm, we started walking towards Pavillion, stopped to get a drink at Starbucks and proceeded ahead. As we walk, we came across people from various races and foreign tourists along the way.

On Jalan Kia Peng, we walked past Novotel Hotel, Hakka Restaurant, Menara HLA and was reaching the junction of Jalan Pinang when a group of about 10 teenage Malay youngsters walking from the opposite direction. They looked like typical youths, giggling and talking to each other.

As we walked past them, suddenly one of them turned around and started to make a flying kick to my friend. Noticing the 'fun' he is having, his other friends started to do the same to me. It was so sudden and all I was thinking at the moment was, "What the hell did we do to them?"

Both of us ended up kneeling on the ground for a moment before more kicks and punches came flying in. Even though both of us had our tripod strapped across our shoulder, we were too shocked to react to it. Eventually one punch landed right on my right forehead and I started to bleed profusely. Seeing that they eventually stopped and walked away.WALKED AWAY, damn it. They were not even afraid to run but just WALKED AWAY like winning a game or something.The last thing I remember hearing from one of them was "Baliklah ke negara asal". Imagine hearing this statement on Merdeka Eve.

I knew I was bleeding but I didnt know how bad. I could feel the right side of my head swollen and wet but I did not try to look at myself through a mirror. My friend also suffered bruises on the body and face. By that time there were more people walking around us but they did not stop to see what was wrong. I don't blame them, it was a poorly lit area just in front of Menara Pinang. We recovered and continued walking towards the Convention Center. The guards were symphatetic to let us in to use the washroom to clean up. It was then I saw my bloody face.

I did not take a picture of myself then as it is not my intention to send a horror message. This is not a message of sympathy. It's a account of a random person walking on a street.

Eventually after cleaning up, we walked back to the Police Booth in Pavillion to relate the incident. The response from the officer: "This cannot happen, we have all our men on the streets" (Well, not on the street we got beaten up ...)

Apparently informing the police booth stationed in a public area is NOT MAKING A POLICE REPORT. WTF? Apparently we have to go to a Hospital, get some treatment and make a complain/report at the police counter there. I would be dead by then, ain't I?

Is this how the police maintained that they have improved street crimes? By not noting down petty crimes like gang bang which did not result into hospitalization? Would we be taken seriously if only we landed in the hospital?

What we did was, we went back to the office, rested til this morning, went to a nearby clinic to get some bandages and medic.What else to do? I can't identify my assailants, and my wounds are not death-threatening.

If I had not wanted to celebrate Independence Day, would I walk or drive to the venue?

If I was not thirsty would I stop for 5 mins to get my drink and missed them completely?

If I had held my tripod as a defensive weapon earlier, would I save myself or get more beating instead?

If I'm not Chinese, would I get the same 'treatment'?

All I want to say in the end is ...

When I was lil, I always thought that my country is somewhat one of a kind and standout among the rest. You know why, 'cause as far as I know, only Malaysia has the most races? *I'm not sure!* and I was actually really honoured and dignified for being one of them. However, things aren't what they seem to be.

Discrimination among different races.

People are practically trying to sabotage each other.

Politics is a real mess.

All of a sudden, I feel like cutting my hair like this!

But, since my hair's really thin and flat, I'd probably end up like them. *big sigh*

I wonder how will it be like if I got really, very drunk.

Will I laugh so clamorously that even the dead will rise from their tombs?

Will I act lunatic like some berserk schizophrenic person who hasn't been taking his/her prescription for ages?

Will I offend people with harsh words (i.e. foul words)?

Will I take pictures of people with the camera sticking so close to the person's face?

Will I be ultra hyperactive that I can hop everywhere and hug anyone who's around me?

Will I chant: I'm sober!!! (for 489579171038 times) ?

Will I just walk around without any reasons and out of the sudden give out an uproarious laughter? lol!

Will I babble?

Or will I just get myself comfy on the couch and zzz?

and yet, I don't have any intentions to get myself drunk. :D

The worst part of being drunk is not the hangovers.

It's those embarrassing stuffs that you did which you were not aware of, but people who are around you at that time, were totally watching every single move of yours!

Have you ever try toasted marshmallows? I meant, like the way we see in telly, where little scouts poke their fluffy marshmallows with some stick and toast them with the help of a campfire. Like this >>>

Since I don't camp that often. Wait? I don't think I've even participate in a real one. (excluding the "prefect training camp", which we were forced to go and NO! there's no campfire and horror stories! All we did was mental and physical "training". Anyway, I was wondering how does a toasted marshmallow taste like. and how lucky was I to find a packet of marshmallows sitting in the cupboard. :D In fact, it wasn't pure luck. I bought it. Geez!

and I'm telling you, THEY TASTE SO GOOD THAT YOU CAN'T STOP EATING THEM! seriously!!!

In fact, I toasted my marshmallow using the stove. It's pretty much the same since mine's using gas. So, there's FIRE- the key element that brings out the goodness in every bite!

okay, here's the thing, the toasted marshmallow tasted exactly like candy floss, I reckon. The only thing is that, the inner textual is much more goo-E, sticky and fluffy! YES! YUMMAY! *you can say that again!* and for the outer part of your toasted marshmallow, obviously, IT would be burnt! But, don't freak out 'cause the goodness is kept tightly inside. :D Just don't over-eat them, because we don't want to get sugar rush, don't we?

Done my second chemistry practical today. and Guess what? I shouldn't have, repeat, SHOULD NOT, praise my lab partner at all! SHE!!! SHE!!! SHE!!! She's bloody individualistic! Talk about racist. okay. She's not racist. But, she's so bloody unhelpful. Helo? I'm your lab partner. Can you,at least wait for me to finish my lab questions before you go, HUH?! ARGH! okay! fine! GO! but why can't you clean the apparatus properly? I've to scrub them again after you fled.

Silently, spring creeps in again. Winter is NOT officially over, and yet, gorgeous flowers are blissfully blossoming in the neighbourhood. You can even get spring collections in local retail stores now. Oh! Have I mention that they are just too LOVELY!

People in SA! There's a new shop in Rundle called Tree of Life. I went in today, just to get a quick look. There were heaps of people! The shop is selling women clothings and accessories. (not sure if they are selling any display items cause there are some unique displaying thingy on the tables.) I have to say that the place is very well-renovated. Oh! and most of the clothings have a tinge of Indian-ish and cultural flavour. Hope you get what I meant. :D You can get lovely dresses there. AND! the stuffs are not particularly pricey. I meant, like if you compared to Dotti or Sportsgirl, it's cheaper, I reckon. Anyway, I think it's more of my mother's style than mine. I don't mean that the clothings there were old and crappy. I just have a super cool MOM, that's all! ♥♥♥ Spend some time in that shop and, who knows, probably you could find something that attracts you.

Do you know that keeping a pet can actually enhance your health? I read this article today and well, some of the facts were pretty unbelievable!

A study spanning 20 years showed that people who own cats are 40 per cent less likely to die from a heart attack. While, dog owners had a better survival rate a year after a heart attack.
Cat owners have been found to have lower strokes in comparison to those who own dogs or no pet at all. It partly has to do with the effect of owning a pet on your circulation.
Children who grown up in a household with a cat or a dog were less likely to have allergies, asthma and common skin conditions. This is because animals aren’t exactly the cleanest things so babies that are exposed to pets and a greater exposure to dirt have a stronger immune system. *I should show this to my mom!*
It will take only 15 minutes for anxiety and stress levels to reduce when you are around a cat or a dog. You body changes physically during that space of time that makes a big difference in your mood. The stress hormone cortisol is lowered and serotonin is increased.
The simple act of stroking a pet has been found to lower a person’s blood pressure. A study involving stockbrokers with high blood pressure who adopted a cat or dog had lower blood pressure readings in stressful situations than did people without pets.
Researchers have found that owning a pet can lower your levels of cholesterol. Having a pet has the potential of making it easier to avoid the dangers of cholesterol which is thought to be down to the lifestyle factors of pet owners.
Stroking a pet has a calming effect on everyone and taking care of an animal helps a person to feel better about them self in regards to the way that they spend their time. They're actually letting you focus on them rather than focusing inward on yourself all the time.
Surprisingly one in three dogs picks up the scent of the chemical reaction in the body when blood sugar levels get dangerously low. They therefore can be trained to raise the owner’s awareness when this happens.

BEWARE Legging-lovers, for what might seems to be the hottest fashion, it might put your life at stake. *serious face*

I've read a shocking article yesterday and yes! it's related to leggings. So, Thailand's government is busy spreading out a health warning to teenagers about the deadly, South Korean-inspired fashion craze for leggings, ESPECIALLY BLACK LEGGINGS! Can you possibly imagine that black leggings can actually put you at risk of catching potentially deadly dengue fever? Well, I don't!

According to the article, the Deputy Public Health Minister Phansiri Kulanartsiri told that the mosquitoes which transmit the disease are attracted by dark colours. So, when these evil blood-sucker bastards see your pretty leggings, they got "high" and then they come charging at you like a big, mad bull! The mosquitoes can bite through the thin fabric, so those who wear them are at greater risk of being infected with dengue. Simple as that! Talk about ruining our leggings! pfft!

And so, the Deputy Public Health Minister suggested people to wear light colours and wear pants that can protect against mosquitoes. So, i suppose these will work.

There are 43 deaths and more than 45,000 infections in the first seven months of this year. Now you can see how serious it is, isn't it? and mostly were young people. That just ain't cool! I guess SA is still fine. (GUESSING ONLY!) All we have is sand flies, which apparently belongs to another group of blood suckers. *the ones I've once called them the mutated flies*
